Post stay: Auschwitz

Auschwithz: Sinister place- first started out as a prison for political Polish prisoners- later ending up a place of suffering and fear for jews, russians and gypsies from all Nazi-occupied territories.
For five years, this was a place of humiliation, cruel and inhuman treatment and living conditions and death under the deceitful slogan: "Arbeit mach frei". Favourite death methods were: starvation, standing up, hanging by a pole from the hands, getting shot, getting hosed in the cold and freezing to death or being gassed or injected with lethal substances. And if you were unlucky enough to be a twin or a triplet childor a handicaped person, you would get special treatment from doctor Mengele who would take care you are a part of an experiment or two, as part of a "genetic and anthropological research".

As you would get there by train the "Sauna" (a building) awaited you: there you were stripped of all your posessions, shaved of all your body hair, desinfected and tatooed a number on your arm which would from now on be your identity for the rest of the time. If you were lucky, you would have gotten old clothes, if not, you would be pushed in the cold directly to work, regardless if you were old, sick or pregnant. Later on you would be lucky to eat anything or to get the chance to use the latrine in the 15 minutes thousands of prisoners were forced to go at once.
Later on you would work to exhaustion and you would pray not to be one of those who burned the bodies of gassed people or shove their ashes in the pond.
